Fate works in extraordinary ways.
We hear stories of extreme ends. From patients beating the odds of living after being given a one in 900 chance to live to unsuspecting passers-by losing their lives after being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It’s like when you think you confirm going to fail the test but end up doing the opposite.
And for today’s miracle story, a group of divers escaped death after a great white shark got stuck and bled to death while trying to get to the divers.
Well, it isn’t so much of a miracle for the great white shark.
Great White Shark Lunged At Cage ?
In a distressing video released online, it showed a great white shark bleeding to death after it tried to get to the divers in a cage.
On 9 October, in the north-western Mexican state of Baja California, a group of divers was in a cage underwater when a shark lunged at the cage and got stuck between the bars.
Muffled screams could be heard in the video when the shark first threw itself at the cage with the divers inside visibly shocked.
Bled To Death?
When the endangered Great White Shark realised that it was stuck in the cage, it tried to wriggle itself free.
It’s aggressive wriggling caused fishes around it to swim away before its injuries deepened and blood can be seen spewing out of the wound.
The more it struggled, the more it bled.
When the shark finally broke free, it was too late. It was critically injured and had died. The dead shark was filmed sinking to the bottom of the ocean.
Close Brush With Death?
As the great white shark was wriggling free, the divers in the cage took the opportunity to escape from the cage.
It was a close brush with death for them because if the shark had not gotten itself stuck in the cage, it would have attacked them.
Shark Was “Strangely Aggressive”?
According to Mirror, Mexican environmentalist mentioned that the area is considered “the most important great white shark sanctuary on the planet”.
The shark is listed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.
The owner of the ship involved in the incident, Nautilus, said that it was a “totally extraordinary” incident as the great white shark was “strangely aggressive”.
