Taiwanese Woman Went East Africa For A Trip, Fell In Love & Married Tour Guide

Cultural diversity is an increasingly accepted notion in this somewhat open-minded world. Gone are the days when majority would frown at the marriage of a white bride and a black groom, an Asian groom and a white bride.

Though still present, doubters have steadily declined as the world grew to accept marriages for what they’re worth:

Unrestricted by any race or religion.

And indeed, it’s heartwarming to witness such accounts, especially stories such as a certain Lu Lee-Kombe, who achieved the aforementioned notion in perhaps the most exquisite fashion possible.

Taiwanese Woman Went East Africa For A Trip, Fell In Love & Married Tour Guide

According to a social media post by Facebook user Lu Lee-Kombe, the Taiwan-born Netizen had fallen in love in the most exquisite fashion possible…

One that comes with a real dash of… tourism.

Apparently, Lu had faced what many of us would surely contend or have contended with: experimenting with a series of jobs, including “ideal”, parent-recommended lines that failed to appeal to her as a permanent career goal.

And so, she decided to return to school for her MA.

But before she did so, she happened to come across a whole bunch of stuff about Africa, including books, documentaries, news and articles. Hooked, she signed up for a volunteering trip to Tanzania, East Africa, as she wished to know more about the region, and would eventually go on to teach English for around two weeks.

She also signed up for a short camping safari tour, where she would meet a certain “young, friendly Tanzanian guy” known as…

Sam.

Long story short; they got together.

And they are now married with two kids.

Safari Stories

According to Lu, Sam is no longer a safari 驳耻颈诲别…

But the boss of his own safari company and safari camp.

Thus far, the couple has travelled throughout East Africa, and Lu makes it a point to write whenever she can. The environment has certainly proved to be an idea-rich one too, considering how she has since published two novels and also worked on illustrated children’s books.

Also, Sam allegedly has a whole series of “noteworthy safari stories”, so much so that Lu expresses a wish to “one day ghostwrite for his memoir.”

“One of his best stories involves his safari clients squatting down to pee (unknowingly) in front of two female lions,” she wrote.

Well, we’re certainly looking forward to that book already, alright.

And Netizens Roared Their Approval

Despite being uploaded just yesterday (4 October 2020), the post has already garnered over 49K likes & reactions, as well as some 2.2K comments.

Netizens were generally happy for the couple, with some conveying how beautiful Lu’s story is.

It’s also, apparently, worthy of becoming a K-Drama.

However, some also proved a tad bit ‘jealous’ of the couple’s success, with one questioning her own life.

But I’m pretty sure it’s just tongue-in-cheek humour.

It should be noted that Sam has also become a role model for all the men in the world.

And Netizens evidently concur.

And it seems that Lu’s story has prompted others with similar experiences to step out too.

One Amanda Fung Kavutse, for instance, shared her own story in the comments section.

Well,?how’s that for a collaboration?

Appreciation

Lu has since responded to the “overwhelming response” to the post, and thanked everyone for the “kind feedback”.

She also has some final wise words to convey to everyone.

“Life has so many unexpected twists and you never know where your next step will land you,” she wrote.

“Even during the pandemic times, where everything is on pause and uncertain, we should just all keep living our best lives, and dare to dream our next adventure!”

And honestly speaking,?that may just be the key to life.

One thing’s clear though.

Cultural diversity is very much real.

And it’s one that’s being welcomed with open arms, which is gratifying because in the end…

Love, or interactions for that matter, really shouldn’t be held back by such stone-set notions as race or religion.
