Everything About ChatGPT & Why Google is Now Worried

With technology advancing at speeds that history has never seen before, there is no doubt that every day there is a breakthrough, no matter how small.

For instance, many companies have been trying to develop chatbots and are successful to a certain extent.

However, none are as personable and advanced as ChatGPT.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a revolutionary Large Language Model (LLM) chatbot developed by San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI based on GPT-3.5 that, in some ways, acts as a search engine.

It possesses the ability to interact in human-like dialogues and provide human-like responses.

The long-form question-answering artificial intelligence (AI) was trained with a large amount of data to precisely predict what word will come next in a specific sentence.

According to Stanford University, increasing the amount of data given to the bot will increase its precision and ability to predict.

Uses of ChatGPT

ChatGPT can do complex tasks such as writing code, poems, songs, and even stories in the style of a particular author.

This means that not only can ChatGPT be used as a platform to search for answers, but it is also something people can use to get their tasks done.

So for those who hate writing their assignments on a topic they have zero clue about, this is probably excellent news for you.

Another way to use it is to ask it complex questions. For example, you can use it to help teach your child how to do a specific question.

On their website, ChatGPT showed an example of a user asking the bot a mathematics question, which the bot broke down the working and formula to get the answer.

Might Replace Google One Day

Although the chatbot still has a long way from being perfect, many have started to wonder what the world would be like if a chatbox was used as a search engine since it can already answer so many questions, just like how Google would.

Some even dubbed ChatGPT the next Google due to how amazed they are by the chatbot.

?Despite the praises, some mentioned the cons of the AI.

One user on Twitter mentioned that one problem with the AI is fact-checking, questioning its factuality and how it cross-checks its sources.

Furthermore, many have added that ChatGPT may be a payable service, which many find a turn-off and essentially what may “kill” the chatbot.

Is ChatGPT free?

As of the time of writing, ChatGPT is free as it is still in the “research preview” period, and over 1 million people have tried the chatbot within five days of its release.

Users can try out the chatbot and provide feedback on the accuracy of its responses so that the AI can improve the types of answers they provide.

To entice users to provide feedback, OpenAI is holding a contest with a prize of $ 500 USD in ChatGPT credits.

The entries can be submitted through the feedback form, which can be found in the chatbot’s interface.

The contest ends on 31 Dec 2022 at 11:59 pm.
