In the last two days, you might have seen this video circulating on social media.
It turns out that it’s actually an old video.
Here’s what you should know.
Everything About the Bukit View Secondary School, Which Happened in 2023
The video, which started circulating on social media on Sunday (15 September), shows six or seven boys in Bukit View Secondary School’s PE uniforms surrounding the small boy under an HDB block.
While the boy seems to be answering a question, a much taller boy standing behind him suddenly kicks him hard without warning.
The smaller boy falls into the feet of another person, crying loudly, while others laugh at the scene. The attacker turns and leads the group away, smiling.
The video has sparked outrage online, with many netizens expressing sympathy for the victim and calling for disciplinary action against the bullies.
However, it turned out that the bullying took place in October 2023 outside the school premises, and the school had not received any report of it at the time.
After the video spread, the school immediately took steps to check on the students’ well-being, and the victim was confirmed to be uninjured.
The principal of Bukit View Secondary School said that after the video began circulating, the school promptly looked into the student’s well-being, and no injuries were reported at that time. The school emphasized that they view such misbehavior seriously and would counsel the students involved, while also administering disciplinary actions as necessary.
A police report had been lodged by the victim’s parents, and investigations are ongoing.
